 Caracas
- Gran Roque
Early flight
from Maiquetía (Caracas) or Porlamar to Los Roques National
Park. Upon our arrival we will transfer by boat to a local key where
we will enjoy the superb blue waters of this paradise archipelago.
Our guide will take us snorkeling to a specially chosen spot where
we will get our first good look at this astounding underwater world.
We will see many different Caribbean fish and magical coral reefs.
 We
will have a delicious lunch on the key, and after a little relaxation
time we will visit another of the scores of islets that comprise
this archipelago. Here we will visit a traditional lobster farm,
then enjoy the enticingly warm waters of this lovely, Edenic spot.
Late in the afternoon we will return to Gran Roque where we will
have dinner and overnight in a comfortable posada in the town. The
above may be purchased as a day trip.

After
a hearty breakfast we will attempt a visit to Dos Mosquises Island,
located to the south of the archipelago. The waters surrounding the
island make for a delightful morning of snorkeling and diving, after
which we will visit the Dos Mosquises Biological Station. Here, Fundación
Los Roques has developed a Caribbean Turtle preservation program.
During our visit we will learn about this fascinating project, and
be able to see the facility where the turtles are bred.
Following
lunch on Dos Mosquises we will take a little time to relax and enjoy
the beach before returning to the airstrip in Gran Roque, for our
return flight.
