The Valley of the Lost World Experience
Imagine this…
Fly in small plane over massive outcrops of vertical rock formations called tepuis that are hundreds of millions of years old rising high above the savanna and surrounding rainforests like “islands in the sky”. Each tepui with its own unique ecosystem.
Before you know it Angel Falls appears through the clouds right in front of your very eyes. A powerful force of nature whose waters plunge 3,212 feet making Angel Falls the world’s tallest waterfall and the eighth natural wonder of the world.
All you can do is gaze in awe at your surroundings as you land on the savanna where Jimmie Angel himself set up base camp in 1937 before stranding his plane atop Auyántepui in search of a lost river of gold.
Once on the ground explore hidden sacred canyons where after a long, hot hike you take a swim in one of the refreshing natural pools beneath the towering falls within.
You look up and see a rainbow created from the dance of the mist and the tropical sun. As you swim in the clear waters with your traveling companions, you sense a spiritual force, a mysterious energy that soothes you. You lean back and float in the natural pool and realize that you are far way from everything, but there is no other place that you would rather be.
Enjoy the local Pemón hospitality and visit with them in their homes and villages, experience their local customs and ritual dances first hand and even join in the ceremonial welcome.
Take to the rivers in curiaras and enjoy paddling up stream to your next location.
Combine this with a riverboat trip to the base of Angel Falls and on to Canaima Lagoon with its seven waterfalls spectacular.
