ITINERARY

Day 1. Canaima National Park

Angel Falls are located deep inside Canaima National Park. The tour begins in the Canaima Lagoon area, from its shores you can see four different waterfalls – Hacha, Wadaima, Ucaima and Golondrina. There are seven in total.

After lunch at a local indigenous village you will be taken across the lagoon by dugout canoe, walk along the pink sand banks and through rainforest to either Sapo or Hacha Falls. Depending on the season, you may swim in the lake before hiking in the forest and behind the falls, while enjoying amazing scenery through the powerful curtain of water. Dine before retiring for the night to the gentle sound of crickets.

Feel free to walk in the Pemón community and taste a little of their culture.

Day 2. Angel Falls

After breakfast, you will board a motorized dugout canoe to travel along the Carrao and Churún rivers towards the spectacular Angel Falls.

The journey is about 4 hours, giving one ample time to take in the lush scenery and the fantastic tepuis (table-top mountains) in the background. After an hour or so in Devil’s Canyon, you will finally arrive at Isla Raton and see the falls cascading almost 1km from the top of Auyántepui and running all the way to Churún river. From this point, hike through rainforest for about an hour to Laime’s Lookout Point and then down to the rock pools at the base of the falls where you may cool off in the freshwater of Angel Falls.

Sleep in comfortable hammocks in full view of the tallest fall in the world.
